Black and Blue Weekend

Beer(s): 50 % Guinness and 50 % Wild Blue Lager
Location: My Place

Story: Well the story goes, it was St. Patrick's Day last week and I had to work. Not to say I didn't have a couple of St. Patrick's Day brews but we will leave that for a different day, a different review. The spirit of the holiday carried over to this past weekend when I did up one of my all time favorite brew concoctions. It is the "Black and Blue!" When I do this I just simply mix half and half of each beer. The Wild Blue is a blueberry flavored beer and when mixed with Guinness it is unbelievably tasty.

This mixture delivers a thick and creamy head which gives off such a fruitful aroma. It is so delicious that the strong alcohol contents of each beer just seem to disappear. This could make for a problem or for a very good time! This mixture is a 5 out of 5 and if you have never tried to do this I highly recommend it.

That is all today short and sweet. Short as in, once mixed they don't last long and sweet as in, it is sweet to the taste and superbly smooth. So, try one and tell me what you think?

Monding Morning Cow Tipping

Beer: New Glarus Spotted Cow

Location: My Basement, La Crosse, WI

Story: I thought let's make this interesting. A cow in the early A.M. you must think I would have to be on the farm milking one. Instead, I am in my basement at 6:30am tipping a spotted cow. Hence why I am Monday morning cow tipping.

Now, the flavor, the cloudiness, the story behind the cow. Spotted Cow is a smooth ale that leaves a fruitful taste resonating with your taste buds. This ale has an unbelievably cloudy look to it and most people don't realize it but New Glarus brews a hint of corn in this ale to give it the cloudy look and to give a shout out to the local farmers of Wisconsin. Before you drink a cow you should always flip it and let the sediments float through out the beer. This will give you the full effect of the flavor that you should be getting to gain the true experience.

I rate this ale another two thumbs up. It has always been a favorite of mine and thought I would review a brew that I knew well. We should enjoy this one because all the other states in our country can not unless they make their way into Wisconsin. Let it be known that we are home to one of the greatest Microbreweries in the nation and we have it all to ourselves. So enjoy all and tip a cow or two for me some morning, some night, or some afternoon.

Afternoon Hefe

Beer: Pearl Street Brewery's El Hefe Bavarian Style Hefeweizen

Location: Del's Bar

Story: A joined a couple of friends for lunch at Fayze's and then we decided to head to Del's Bar for a drink. This is one of my favorite bars in La Crosse, WI. I love the very chill atmosphere that the bar permeates with. If you are looking for a great bloody mary and a good relaxing time carry yourself on over to Del's. Well, my friend wanted to try one of Del's world renowned blood mary's. I found this the perfect opportunity to get a taste of one of the Pearl Street Brews that I had not yet the privilege of sampling.

The brew I chose to sample was their El Hefe Bavarian Style Hefeweizen. Now, I love a Bavarian style brew but I didn't expect this! This beer has the smoothest flavor. This beer has accents of fruit and was served with a lemon slice. Del's just added this lemon without even your request! Now, that is a quality bar. This beer was refreshing and brought such crisp taste in my mouth. I would recommend this beer to anyone. Any type of beer drinker would enjoy this one, mark my words. The El Hefe Bavarian Style Hefeweizen 5 stars out of 5 and two thumbs up.

This was an afternoon that was ended up being very interesting if I would have to say so myself. But the quote of the day came from my friend. I won't disclose his name until I get his permission. The quote: "If you are a tool when you are sober, does that make you a power tool when you are drunk?" Just think about that one and sit back and laugh while you sip on a El Hefe Bavarian Style Hefeweizen! Until next time, Drink Dank all!
